Wine can be removed in Lite Software.

 I do have wine installed but haven't found the need to use it. I'm a lite user, just a little surfing and email. My computer seems ok without the Ubantu extras. I'll use it for a few days and make sure but  i think for now we can declare " Problem Solved". Thank you for your help. I appreciate that you take the time to share and help others

Restricted Extras can be installed via Menu>System>Lite Software

In Software and Updates I do not have Ubuntu Extras displayed as an option to tick or untick, and it is running fine.

Edit - The Ubuntu maintainer page for extras Ubuntu seems to be to do with PPA's, the PPA in your results is Wine. I don't have Wine installed, I only know it can be used for some Windows programs to run on Linux, I only know this from seeing threads on this forum, but I have not used it myself.

I went back and unselected Ubantu extras under --Software and updates-- , ran "update software"  again and got no error message . Not sure what "ubantu extras" are. Do I need them?

It can be the update server, if this doesn't solve it, this link says it can be the sources list - https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2312714

Posting the output of the commands specified may show an issue.

after installing LL when I try to update software I get this error log.. LL 3.8 Toshiba satellite L775,AMD, 4GB......I'm an old computer incompetent  Thanks for any help
