Title: How to change Compiz GTK theme
Post by: TheLamerLinux on December 17, 2016, 07:24:01 PM
Hello,

I use Linux Lite for a good time and I really like it. I found a bug on XFWM and it goes with docky show a line above docky I also tried Plank and it was same. I disable XFWM and the line stop so I decided it use Compiz I follow this website: http://www.webupd8.org/2012/11/how-to-set-up-compiz-in-xubuntu-1210-or.html (http://www.webupd8.org/2012/11/how-to-set-up-compiz-in-xubuntu-1210-or.html)

I know it's old but it works but it gives me an ugly theme to it which I use the default theme "Arc-Dark" here is a screenshot what it looks like:

I want to get my theme back to it and I want to know can I put the buttons where I had it before (I put the buttons where Ubuntu Unity have theirs).

If there is no way I can get my GTK theme working then how can I get Emeralds working I use to use Emeralds along time but I just got to the point I don't install it anymore and now I tried to install it using Noobslab PPA they don't have it anymore.

Same here
It's impossible to install Emerald.. we are stuck with that ugly theme (or 'decoration')
I tried to change every "theme" value in dconf editor, but it isn't working

Tried every "theme" value on gconf-editor as well as changing the theme with gnome-tweak-tool
Nothing changed..
What should be set in compiz editor?
Tried the default "/usr/bin/gtk-window-decorator"
Tried also "/usr/bin/gtk-window-decorator --replace ccp"
I even tried "xfwm4 --replace"
Nothing.....

I have a solution.. or a workaround rather.....
1. In the CompizSettings > Window Decoration
2. Replace the command "/usr/bin/gtk-window-decorator" with the command:
Code: [Select]
/usr/bin/gtk-window-decorator --metacity-theme UniteMod --replace3. Change "UniteMod" to Arc or whatever theme that you want
4. Restart your session
