Brilliant thanks @stevef,

I got there in the end, rebooted a couple of times and:
- wait a while and it will either self clear if no updates available or indicate if there are updates to do.

Many thanks  :032:

The error log you are getting indicates that the update that you initiated cannot progress because another process has control of the resources used to update and has locked them.

Legitimate reasons for this include:-

1) The system is running an automatic update scan in the background - usually if the machine has recently booted - wait a while and it will either self clear if no updates available or indicate if there are updates to do.  The usual indicator is a red icon on the task bar near the network icon.  There is no obvious number on the red update icon and I don't recall seeing a number on the wifi icon.

2) The user has got a package manager system already open. Viewing and selecting software to install uses the resources - close any package management tools before initiating an update.

Hi, Newbie here, fresh install of Lite 5.8, attempting to perform the initial update and I get this info. (Immediately afterwards it gave an indication that system was up to date?).

I'm not sure if I'm up to date or not.

Many thanks, Smithy  :026:
