Title: Firefox crashes constantly
Post by: topsy on May 02, 2015, 02:37:21 AM
When I installed Linuxlite 2.4 recently, everything seemed alright. I decided to update the system. After doing so, Firefox

was totally unstable and crashed often. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I install the older Firefox? :(It seems that

Firefox crashes only when I access my Internet Provider (i.e. telus.com). Is there any reason for this? I thank you for the 3

replies. BTW, my system tells me the CLI commands offered do not exist!  topsy.

Make sure Firefox is closed first. Then try, Menu, System, Lite Tweaks, Firefox.

Consider wipping  out the old FF configuration (but save your bookmarks and other settings first).  I.e., remove ~/.mozilla/firefox .

try using bleachbit to clean your firefox cache & crud

sudo swapoff -a
in case it is bad swap disk space

if that does not work
boot from a rescue / live disk and do a filesystem check for bad sectors

eg.
fsck -c -V /dev/sda1
fsck -c -V /dev/sda2

Firefox only crashes when I access the Internet Provider's home page at : www.mytelus.telus.com

Try once.

mv ~/.mozilla/firefox  savefirefoxconfig

Then run firefox as it is the first time.  Still crash or not?  If still crash, I can't help you.  If no crash, then slowly build up FF using what is in    savefirefoxconfig/[garbage].default
