From other forums you can get system sounds to work in XFCE but it's not for the beginner.

I have to admit that at least a startup/shutdown sound would be great but this is, so far the only drawback to using LL.

Anybody :-\
Does any one use system sounds on Linux lite? or is this just something that it doesn't support, or is there a way to enable them?
Thanks
Tommy

Hello, Just installed 2.0 beta(and 1.0.8) and think its fantastic! Almost have everything working. ( this is on a Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop.

Im trying to find a windows replacement for my sisters laptop, so far i have tried Zorin os and Linux Lite 1.0.8
So far i have everything working except: System sounds (ex - Start up and shut down sounds, minimize and maximize windows, log on, log off, error ect... )
i have enabled: Event sounds under appearance Settings, tried to install some Canberra Stuff? Still no system or event sounds?
So far i am loving this OS and think i can get some people to switch to it, just need to get it working as close to windows as possible, so if anyone could point me in the direction i would appreciate it.

I have done numerous google searches spent a few hours trying things and still no system sounds working
(all the other sounds work, youtube, music, video, etc...
Keep up the great work this Os is going to be awesome!
Thanks,
Tommy
