It just adds a point to that user's "reputation" when you click the "Thank" button.

@ejc ,

What you were told is not true for Linux Lite.  Use 64-bit.  The operating system is really good with handling memory.  It alone won't require much of your memory.  Running multiple programs, or a browser with a lot of open tabs, will use more of your memory.  If you can, upgrade your RAM above 2GB.  But it will work fine with that amount.  I always recommend maxing out the allowable memory.  It doesn't cost much on eBay, and there are performance benefits.  Until you do, consider using the performance tweaks in Lite Tweaks called Preload Apps and zRAM.  Lite Tweaks can be found at Menu, Settings, Lite Tweaks.

On Firefox, if you install the 64 bit version of Linux Lite, it will include the 64-bit version of Firefox.  And if you have the 64-bit version of Linux Lite, only install programs for 64-bit.

I was running a lappy (Fuji Si1520) with 2 GB RAM on LL64 v 3.6.  The whole package - OS + apps worked ok   However did upgrade to the maximum allowable of 3GB and it feels more "comfortable".   Unfortunately motherboad/bios max  was 3GB or would have gone higher. .  Personally, when time allows,  I would upgrade for the max RAM your machine will take.  Auction sites tend to have used RAM reasonably prices with little risk. FWIW
2006 - HP DC7700p ultraslim Desktop Intel 6300 cpu  4GB Ram LL3.8 64bit.
2007 - Fujitsu Siemens V3405 Laptop  2 GB Ram LL3.6 32bit. Now 32bit Debian 9 + nonfree.
2006 - Fujitsu Siemens Si1520 Laptop Intel T720 cpu 3GB Ram   LL5.6 64 Bit
2014 - Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook E754 Intel i7 4712MQ 16GB Ram LL6.6
2003 - RETIRED Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 1 GB RAM LL2.8 32bit

Hello, I was told it is advisable to use 32-bits versions of program when someone has a machine with 2 Go RAM even if the machine is 64-bits. Does that apply to linuxlite too? Should I put the firefox 32-bits version? In 64-bits, which is the one I am using now, it is not that slow, but just asking.
