Hello william_st_ia,

at some stage during the update process were options displayed as per this quote ?  -

Updated a few minutes ago using "Install Updates" and received this message:

Configuration file '/etc/issue'
==> Modified (by you or by a script) since installation.
==> Package distributor has shipped an updated version.
What would you like to do about it ?  Your options are:
    Y or I  : install the package maintainer's version
    N or O  : keep your currently-installed version
D     : show the differences between the versions
Z     : start a shell to examine the situation
The default action is to keep your current version.
*** issue (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ?

If this is the case and you selected the incorrect option, there is a way to fix this which has been posted on the forum here -

Just for info in this thread. Any time you agree (say yes instead of no) to the package maintainers version of a text file like /etc/issue or whatever. The old one will still still be there. It's name will be /etc/issue.dpkg.old.

Just rename /etc/issue to /etc/issue.backup. Rename /etc/issue.dpkg.old to /etc/issue. Reboot.
This can be done with any file said yes to when upgrading.
I learned this using Debian Sid repos.

Hi All,
I am the administrator for setting up Linux Lite machines to deploy to an outside work environment.
Mozilla started requiring an update to run video, so I ran the Linux Menu->Install Updates.
Once completed I am no longer on Linux Lite 1.0.8 but am now on Ubuntu 12.0.4.0.5.
Functionality and appearance appear to be the same, my concern is why it reverted back to Ubuntu from Linux Lite which is on previous versions.

Are all versions from this point forward when we run updates on install going to do this?
