Title: [SOLVED] Mariadb 10.1
Post by: baboo on December 06, 2014, 12:16:37 PM
Hi,

I am having problems installing mariadb 10.1. I get an error msg that says it has unmet dependencies but doesn't say what they are. Has anyone installed 10.1 and can point me to guide on how its done? BTW: I can install mariadb 5.5 in repos with no problem.

thanks

Are you installing it via this method?

https://downloads.mariadb.org/mariadb/repositories/#mirror=digitalocean-sfo&distro=Ubuntu&distro_release=trusty&version=10.1

Not sure if it's the same issue but it looks like a restart worked for this person: http://askubuntu.com/questions/548792/how-to-install-mariadb-on-ubuntu-14-10

thank you for the link. I rolled back to mysql 5.5 because I am behind on some dev work. When I get a chance I will try again and see if reboot works.

thanks

Hello!

If you use GDebi to install it from a .deb, it SHOULD tell you what the missing dependencies are - one at a time, of course, which can be quite frustrating. It should also tell you what they are in the terminal when you install it...
