Title: [SOLVED] Audio sync issues....
Post by: Monkeyman on December 17, 2014, 08:43:09 AM
...in both YouTube videos and VLC.  YouTube vids also tend to pause on their own.  Easy enough to restart by clicking anywhere on the time bar.  YT vids are NOT buffering, just pausing randomly and will not restart on their own.

Fresh install of LL 2.2 on Kingston SSD.  No issues with this in 2.0.  (Once I get this figured out, I'll install on my HDD.)

Anyone with a suggestion?  I'm not going to bother installing 2.2 on the HDD until I know this is figured out in case it's a 2.2 issue.

Update:  It seems the issue is BT/headset related.  Just before the audio starts to get out of sync, I hear some stuttering when wearing my BT headphones.  Rebooting is the only thing that fixes the problem.  HOWEVER, when I plug in my wired headset, everything's fine.

Any suggestions on a non-Broadcom BT dongle?  I'll try one of those to see if that's the problem.

I use a Logitech G930 wireless headset. No sync issues, works well. I'm not a fan of BT audio on linux, to many limitations.

I HAVE to use headphones as my neighbors (other 1/2 of a duplex) seem to be able to hear a mouse fart.  I guess I can find a 1/8" extention cable for my over-the-ear headphones but those are fairly heavy.

I guess the problem must be my BT adapter.  How do I know which BT adapters are non-Broadcom?  I don't want to buy multiple adapters just to find one that works.

Hello!

I bought two generic USB Bluetooth 2.0 dongles from Amazon.com for $0.89 each in October, and just ordered four more. Linux auto-detects them, and the Bluetooth fix for LL gets it all going. The super-cheap dongles are almost always generic.

The dongles had to come from Hong Kong, but then again, I'm in no hurry for them. I saw a possible workaround here for the Broadcom issues that someone posted, but I'll have to search for it - tonight...
