John,

Sorry about that.  Not sure what's happening here.

While the media check is happening do you see the message 'Press Ctrl+C to cancel all filesystem checks in progress' ?

You could try dropping back to LL ver 4.x - this didn't have an automatic filesystem check when booting live media and is still supported for another year or so.

Running off DVD is always going to be very slow.  Is using USB memory stick not an option for these two cases?
clueless

Press 'Ctrl+c' to skip media checking and go straight to DVD booting.

Even without the media check booting from a DVD is not a quick process.

Hi

Back with Linux Lite after a time away, so far so good, and have installed for others.
Two of the people I have shown the Linux Lite would like to use it from a DVD.
Because they use older systems it takes some time to do the "Media check" this can be unfortunate if they just want to check their email.
Is there a way to disable this check once you have used the DVD and know it is correct, or should they try something other than Lite
Regards stay safeJohn
