Hi.  I just installed linux lite on an old HP. I installed from a dvd I burned to on the same computer.  When I try to update I get the following error.  I am a complete novice. I tried reading other threads, but they didn't seem to pertain, so I am sorry if this is a duplicate.

Hmm, it doesn't look 'installed' it looks like you are running it Live. Also, make sure DVD is NOT in drive when doing Updates.

If you want to be able to save your settings make a persistent live usb but you are limited to how big you can make it. What did you use to make your bootable usb?
