Linux Lite enables "numlock" by default. You can temporarily disable numlock using your keyboard. Have a look at your keyboard for extra functions applied by holding the fn key down.

To permanently disable go to Menu/Settings/Lite Tweaks and scroll down to numlock. Tick the numlock box and click on Begin at the bottom and follow the instructions :)

I just installed Linux Lite on my ASUS Notebook 1005 PE which has an embedded numeric keypad in the alpha portion of the keyboard.  Unfortunately, the installation has set the default keyboard layout to recognize the numeric keypad. This has messed up my passwords.  Is there a solution outside of reinstalling. I have reinstalled 3 times. Any help will be appreciated. Like where do the keyboard definitions live?
