So yes, problem solved.  It was the encrypted partition. Once reformated and parted with ext4 and swap, installation was completed without any other issue.  Pretty obvious now  ::)
I should have started my own thread instead of "hijacking" Pense-Malin's.  But our installation problems looked very much alike.

Same problem here.  I'm trying to install LL 3.0 on a Compaq CQ-60 AMD Sempron that was running LL 2.8 without a hitch. I get stuck on a "installation crashed" message and no bug report popping up. Only difference with OP is that my laptop was fully encrypted with LUKS, and I forgot to decrypt before reinstalling LL 3.0.  After a few fail, I've D-Ban'ed the disk and started a clean install (not a dual-boot). Didn't change anything.

But now, Partition table looks like this, sda5 being what was the encrypted partition and "inconnu" meaning unknown

Am I on to something here? Would that explain my install crashes?

1) You list options as if you've done these things separately. All three must be done at once, not one, or the other. If install still crashes with all three of these options  enabled at once, then you have a problem, but until you do all three at once I cannot begin to sort out your issue. All three must be done at once.

2) I am not clear as to if you are attempting to triple boot Mint, Windows7, and LL 3.0 64bit.

3) I will explain the problem simply, if indeed you fail or manage to load the system via the method I have prescribed.

4) If not, then you have mixed bit lengths, which I can also sort out for you.

5) You say no message upon installer crash, but I doubt that. Generally at least an I/O error appears.

Hi Trinidad
Dual boot with Windows 7 64 bit and ll 3.0 64 bit
Done install without internet connection no third-party-sofware and no swap
When the installer crashed the following message appears (the same that appears each time I tried to install): Installer has crashed, when closing this window you will be authorise to fill a bug report.
But once the window is closed I cannot acces any bug report.
Thank you.

Many things can cause the installer to act up, You must give more precise info.
In a nutshell do these three things first before assuming any other problems. If this fails you have other problems.

1) Install LL 64bit if Windows7 is 64bit on the same drive.
2) Install without Internet connection, and no third party software.
3) Install without swap, and configure afterwards.

TC

Hi Trinidad,
Item 1) Yes
Item 2) Crashed
Item 3) Crashed
Thank you

What options are you selecting during installation?
Hi Jerry.  Here are the options used during installation:
Start Linux Lite
Preferred language
Download updates
Install third-party sofware
Partition:  Linux Mint 18 dual boot with Windows
Verify partitions already used by Mint and attributing the correct mount point
Grub in /dev/sda
Location
Keyboard
Identification

All options are straight forward and the only place that I could have been in error would be the partition section.  I have checked in the installation manual and found nothing wrong with my installation.

But the installer crashed every time a try to install on my hard drive
Thank you for your help.
