IN the bios do turn off the secure boot option that is only for a windows program. change the  boot order to USB first HDD second. Hope full that this helps. My self i used a free program called balenaEtcher to flash the operating system on the USB flash drive. This makes the OS stand out the computer has to recognize it.

It might be uefi and/or secure boot related.

Hi, guys,
I have a Chromebook that I redid the firmware and put Lubuntu on it, so no more Chromebook OS. I tried to put my favorite linux (Linux Lite) on it, but the Chromebook bios won't recognize Linux Lite on the usb or sd card, but it does recognize Lubuntu on the usb or sd card. Lubuntu is on my chromebook now.  I'm sort of happy with Lubuntu, but it has it's limitations that I've had to work around and fix, where you guys have everything all perfect, all ready, and easy to use. Why is my Chromebook not recognizing Linux Lite iso on usb, but recognizes Lubuntu? Like I said earlier, I used the same usb and sd card for Linux lite as I did for Lubuntu. I downloaded the two the same way off the internet. My chromebook bios just does not recognize the Linux Lite installation. I've tried to find it in the bios different ways, but no. What could be the problem? I love Linux Lite.

UPDATE - I went to Linux Lite site and downloaded uefi iso. It worked for my particular case.  :)
