thats what the '/' I put was for.

I've done that, selecting "use as" Ext 4.  When I click "Install now" I get message "No root file system is defined. Please correct this from the partitioning menu".  How do I do that?

Jerry:
Highlight /dev/sda5 and click Change, choose to format on /. Leave the rest.
