Easiest way might be to install the GUI program Grub Customizer and change the default boot entry with that.  Go to following site and enter the commands shown there into a terminal to add the PPA to your system, update, then install grub-customizer:  https://launchpad.net/~danielrichter2007/+archive/grub-customizer.

When it's done installing, close terminal and look in your Menu for the program.  I'm not sure which category it will show up under, but my guess would be in the "System" category.

Or, you can just follow these instructions to do it manually yourself without downloading a special program:  http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=147519#p774068.

hello everyone!
I've installed xp and linuxlite on my machine (on diff partitions of the same HD) and I'd like to change the default OS to be XP as opposed to linux for the time being. Right now, it's set to linux. Is there a user-friendly way to accomplish this?
Thanks for the help.
