Hello. I hop this helps:

To do this in Windows, the best software, the most efficient smallest simplest fastest portable application to do this, is:
USBWriter-1.3 ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbwriter/ )

I recommend Etcher ONLY if you do it from within Linux, download the  "Etcher.Electron.Appimage" or the Balena.AppImage, (whatever is called these days)  https://balena.io/etcher

Pathological tweaker.

May want to start a new thread so your question doesn't get overlooked....

If the Mint works and LL does not... You may want to confirm if the system has UEFI/Secureboot enabled. If they are, the standard LL 64bit installer will fail, you can disable Secureboot and UEFI (enable legacy) within the BIOS.. Then the installer should install without a problem.. Some BIOS these setting can get tricky to find.

Another option is to use the LL UEFI installer (know this is an experimental version) Find here: https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/linux-lite-software-development/uefi-build-test/msg44253/#msg44253

And if you haven't yet.. Here's a link to the manual (Install): https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual/install.html

Same as me here, so I download new LL  and burn it using balenaEtcher (now etcher called balena) on my mac.
I want to install on me other device but the USB bootable is no luck.

Then, I download Mint.
I do the same as LL, make it bootable using balenaEtcher with the same USB Stick and same way too.
but Mint can boot

Anyone can help?

Heya!

Have you run the driver updater yet? You should have a few driver options for the Broadcom B43's from there.

Cheers!

Thank you all for the input!!

Okay, the Beta UEFI build was bootable and worked fine!

Now, my next questions. Presently I have been using KDE Neon and want to switch to LL if possible but here is the quandary. When I do a speed test on LL it only gives me 20mbps and when I do the speed test on KDE Neon it gives me 65mbps. Is it possible to get the same drivers from KDE Neon working in LL?

Attached is a picture of the drivers listed from KDE Neon.

@firenice03 It's not always possible to change to legacy mode because there is no such option in bios. Like in my case. I just bought Acer Spin , to make it LL machine, but it simply ends on WTF? Only uefi bootable. No legacy mode. Maybe it's possible, but not like turn on/off.

Rest of my posts font size was tiny, to which I suggested the beta uefi build for this case...
Which should work. Although I haven't installed linux on a mac..

Hi,

Pretty sure iMacs are UEFI only since Apple likes to "push" technology on users ;) .
I dont have an iMac handy but I'm not even sure they have BIOSes...

Using the UEFI beta build from Jerry will get you better results.

Cheers!

Have you checked the bios, you can turn off uefi/efi. This is usually done by enabling legacy mode.

If your unsure the is a beta LL UEFI build that you can download and install to usb. The same way.

Hi All,

I went ahead and purchased Mac Linux USB Loader for $5 and the only thing it was able to do was give me an EFI Boot icon but will not boot the ISO. When I was creating the USB it stated that the LL.iso was not an EFI enabled kernel/iso so I am guessing that is why it is not working on my iMac. I am not really sure there is anything more that can be done at this point but I wanted to give an update and appreciate all the input.

Well, one quick update;

Apparently it is my iMac as the Windows laptop boots to it fine. :(

I am just not sure why other distros burn and boot on the iMac but not Linux Lite.
