If it ain't broke..... :) There is no upgrade path yet, we're going to look at making that possible in a later release, maybe 3.0 or 4.0

From what version(s) will the upgrades be from?

Is there a way to upgrade from 1.06 to 1.08 and keep existing personal files and config, like in some of the more "popular" Ubuntu flavors?

Is it worth doing? 1.06 seems stable and fast...
