Format new drive with GParted ext4 Error

<< < (2/4) > >>

rijnsma:
Maybe this helps:
You are not yet root in Gparted. That comes up when you install LL.

;D

I think it's the Terminal that scare plus the added bonus of spelling.
This is so simple in Win OS

Why change owner? (chown) No Disk show owner as Root still, not user ID

rijnsma:
Mostly things like these are simple.
But there can be circumstances which make that one has to investigate.
Why change owner? (chown)
Maybe start all over again?  :) I have done that more than once. Never give up.

Edit spell

DLX:
:-[ It's been a few more days and I'm still struggling still.
I rebuilt hoping setup would see drive and formate and set the permissions.

Someone I know said about typing chown in Terminal but I got lost and after reboot old permissions rebooted.

Why Linux so complicated!

DLX:
Thanks I'll plod on then keep asking and look foolish ;)
