Greeter styles

I do not recommend any solutions, that involve changing greeters, except the web-kit solution, nor do I recommend adding greeter managers. Best to work within the greeter we have in LL.

This is helpful, thank you very much. Going to postpone heavy greeter customizations and study these options instead.

You will have to manually check for the correct file path for the theme and icons you want to use and make sure they are included in the right directories. You should also check that a GUI login prompt is available for the new theme. Make sure you backup first, and I would recommend doing this in a virtual environment if you can.

@trinidad thanks for your reply. What I want is consistency with desktop style, icon themes and a greeter style. For instance, there is a Greybird deskop style, corresponding Greybird window manager style, and a greeter Greybird style. I realize I'm a bit of a perfectionist here and it's hard to find a bundle of one style for all these interface elements. As for the greeter layout and content there is no problem, I like it, it's easily configurable. I guess styling and matching the desktop theme is my question. For example, I found a nice looking theme on xfce-look.org. Deskop style - Window style - Icons set. All made by one person and match perfectly. But the greeter setting is missing this style.

Lightdm is configurable, and in some cases scriptable. What exactly would you like it to do? Display different wallpaper, or a different login prompt, alter its theme? Get together what you want to do and lets see what we can come up with.
