Greeter styles

Lightdm GTK greeter that takes us to the desktop is nice but lacks some styles. I installed a few new xfce themes and it would be nice to have more options for the greeter that would match the desktop themes. Where can I find those styles and how can I install them? Another question: is it possible to use an alternative? I know there is a kde greeter (too heavy for my system probably), a unity greeter, razor something..
