Finally found a bit of time and completed a Lite series 7 to series 8 upgrade on a mid range desktop with AMD GPU and am very impressed.

Minor issues encountered:
UI and Icon Themes and Window Manager Style tweaks made to the version 7 system needed to be done again.

Previously reported issues:
Firefox - Just worked, no requirement to delete cache, but it is set to clear data when closing anyway.
Network - Just worked, it is wired, not wifi.

Dry Run Recommendation:
Does a dry run automatically flag situations in which a full run should not be attempted ?
If not, what does a user do with the mass of information generated ?

I'm truely impressed by the new features and the whole slimming-down philosophy that LL is offering in Series 8. What I've really liked so far is Lite Core, HiDPI feature, Lite ISO creation tool, Wiki Resources, Lite Themes and the overall professional look of all LL's apps.  I've been a user since LL2.2 and moved on until recently but LL8 is definitely an eye-opener.  The install process in VM was a breeze, will move to hardware soon.  Kudos to Jerry and the team.

After having some adventures installing LL 8.0, I came to the following results:

Special mention:

Installing LL 8.0 on ASUSTeK VivoBook M415U, went flawlessly:
- Boot medium = Ventoy Disk with LL 8.0 ISO (among others);
- Partitioning: GParted, for formatting /dev/sda1 as FAT32, 512 MB, boot/esp;
- Boot LL 8.0 ISO;
- Run the LL 8.0 Live;
- Start installation sequence;
- Partition Manager: set the /dev/sda1 mount point to /boot/efi; format the /dev/sda2 as / (Root) and set the mount point; set mount point for /home; set the mount points for the other partitions. I kept a 3 GB SWAP, although it didn't seem necessary so far.
- Reboot;
- Run Updates + reboot;
-  Start customizing XFCE.

Except some minor issues with system graphic themes (ugly icons mostly), the overall behavior, is great!

Tested so far:

Lite Terminal. Looks great and I love the green matrix for the packages (I use the sudo apt upgrade sequence).
Lite Info. Works great.
Lite System Monitor. I use it from time to time to get the info, mostly on CPU/GPU and SWAP. (RAM).
Lite Software. I use a few pieces of software listed there. Works great!
Lite Tweaks. Very important. I usually do the system cleaning with it. I also use Bleachbit, but I'd rather check the status with it, than use it as the only cleaner.
Lite Upgrade. For now, difficult to say, but since I used it for all upgrades (5.x ... 7.x) without any problems, I guess it will work when it comes to that.
Lite Series Upgrade. Used it 4 times so far. Never had or noticed any abnormal behavior. I find it a great tool, considering the "heavy lifting" job it does. Thanks, again!

I hope I will be able to add the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 Slim to the list, but so far, i still have issues with the GPU.
