Hello!

I know you folks like to stay with XFCE as much as possible, but for me, getting xfce4-weather-plugin to work right wound up being too much of a hassle.

I add my-weather-indicator to my LL installs, instead. It just works. GIS Weather is another really cool weathyer widget program...

Thanks. Took your advice again, Rob.  ;D

Don't trust Yahoo due to may have privacy issues like Google. Which weather service do you recommend?

Here is a video I found for those like me who would not know how to install it since it is not in Synaptic.

Hello!

Always happy to help.

One can use the default selection, Open Weather Map, or sign up as a 'developer' on Weather Underground and/or World Weather Online to set up an account on THOSE...

Thanks. I'll just stick with the default.
Hello!

rokytnji's fix worked for me on an XFCE 4.12 that I'm playing with in Lubuntu, but there's a new version since his original post.

Here's how to find and get the latest version (0.8.5-2, May 7th, 2015):

http://mirror.manitu.net/ubuntu/pool/uni...er-plugin/

Hope this helps someone. May try this next time I install LL again, which will be soon.

I had to "nuke and start over" my Windows 8.1, to remove and reinstall some Bluetooth devices that wouldn't budge on the Dell 3135 netbook. Fortunately, I had it backed up from six months ago.

It still took a couple of days, but also saved a couple of days by using the backup, as opposed to starting over with Win 8 Pro, installing over 100 updates, installing 8.1, and installing another 150-or-so updates, and calling Microsoft to get Media Center activated. (Ugh!)

Just finished reinstalling Lubuntu with XFCE 4.12, so after I back up what I've got now, LL 2.4 is next. Glad that ATI fix is up on here somewhere...

Hi Rob,

I installed this on a couple of PC's, v0.8.3

I can't remember if I did it from a .deb or Synaptic.??, don't have it in a ppa.
It does show installed in Synaptic v0.8.3, no update showing.
Can I just run the 0.8.5 .deb file, or will this mess up Synaptic install records..??

Thanks... Dave
Hello!

xfce4-weather-plugin 0.8.5 requires some XFCE 4.12 lib4-bit version libraries to work, so you can't use it in LL yet. Meanwhile, Here are some links for the 64-bit version of xfce4-weather-plugin 0.8.3-2:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/utopic/amd64/xfce4-weather-plugin/download, or

http://mirror.manitu.net/ubuntu/pool/uni..._amd64.deb.

Hope this helps you. As always, if your current version isn't acting up on you, stick with it...
