Tried and can not get rid of nouveau.
I've battled nouveau for several years.
The GUI tool seems to properly install all nvidia304 & components.
But nouveau will simply not remove itself. Several reboots and checks. grub updates etc.
I've purged nouveau but it is still there! wow

after some time and updates,
something got triggered to rebuild initrd
now nvidia is active
