A photo card has been detected

There are photos on the card.  Would you like to add these photos to your album?

The above message has been popping up about every 10 minutes if I close it.  Currently I have it minimized and thus out of the way ...  hrug
By the way I do have photos already archived on an external drive that it seems to me referencing. However I do not want to add them into my Lite photo album.

Do you mean Shotwell ?

Try

Click menu, settings, removable drives and media
Browse each tab in turn to modify what happens with media.

In particular, deselect 'Import digital photographs' using shotwell under the 'camera' tab
