There is another post on the same topic.  The prompt on that page suggested a new thread as the old one has gone 120 days with no comment.

I am trying to connect LL 5.8 to an HP Deskjet 4155e as a wireless network printer.  I have downloaded the HP software.  I have tried the installation instructions in the manual.  I have connected the printer to my laptop via USB. Regardless of the method I attempt, the answer is always <there was an error during the CUPS operation server error internal error>.

Printer setup shows that is sees the printer.  5 attempts at printing a test page have resulted in document being held.

How can I accomplish this task?

FWIW, Linux in general has shown me that I am truly a semi-technophobe.

I did not expect this issue.  I have been using Ubuntu MATE for 3 years and it recognized this printer with no problem.

I have really enjoyed trying Linux Lite again - second time around.  I would like to use it as my primary OS.  I need to be able to print.
I have the same issue adding a printer, but I expect no replies either.

Ouch! The internet is littered with support forums that don't have replies, even on the big boys. Not sure why you've chosen to respond to a thread from June.
There's no reply here, because if you look at their profile, they're running 'Linux Lite: 3.8 64bit'. That is unsupported, period!
If the problem has persisted for that long, then perhaps it's a bug that needs looking into.

Series 3.x is unsupported. Nothing needs to be looked into.
Ok, looks like the OP has 5.8 in their original post and 3.8 in their Profile. Some confusion here. If [member=6925]Artim[/member] you could start a new thread with all of the relevant details, we'll see if anyone wants to help. Cheers [member=4826]LL-user[/member]
