After a Linux Lite update in the past week, or so, all the screen fonts and colors do not render properly. For example, when I bring up Gmail in the browser the red color in the middle of the big "M" does not show. And the fonts on the desktop and screen have strange distortions on some letters. I tried switching the font from Roboto regular to Sans regular, but that does not help. Thanks for any clues.

The problem returned with screen fonts appearing distorted and some colors no showing. I went to Menu, Settings, Appearance and unchecked the custom DPI settings box. I don't know how or why it was set at a dpi of 96 previously. Now the screen fonts look more normal.
