How do i get the display screen to stop blanking out. I havent changed any settings since the install of LL2.0. But today it started doing this after i tampered with the conky installation. and uninstalled it.
Menu, Settings, Screensaver, Mode: Disable Screensaver. Also check Menu, Settings, Power Manager.
screen saver is disable and power manager is set to never. but it still blanks out
Do you have a copy of your conky file?
I uninstalled conky thru terminal and after the screen started blanking out i went into the /etc folder as root and deleted the conky folder and the home folder and deleted the .conkyrc file , which i was never able to edit anyway.
Well bugger, all the files are gone, no help. I haven't heard of this in conky before and I have used it extensively. Someone else may know whats going on here. On Screensaver click on File, Restart Dameon, see if that helps.
Ok thanks .I was able to edit the original conky file several times before i screwed it up. im to tired to learn how to edit conky right now learning linux is enough right now. I will see if that suggestion works. do i do that thru task manager?
Menu, Settings, Screensaver. From the top menu File, Restart Dameon.
Ok thanks i think that might work but have to wait 10 min, even tho it showed screen saver disabled it had a pop up window asking to restart it. so i did and it still showed disabled but the words were darker.
Hi Jerobero500,
Have you considered Conky Manager? No more manual config file editing. Take a look at this video:
