I did an update today and restarted as directed, it stalled out on a blank screen with the feather logo.
And when I try to boot up I stall out on the same blank screen with the feather logo. It won't go any further.
?
Press F4 during boot and where it stops will hold clues as to it's failure to push on with the boot sequence.
I hit F4 and it goes nowhere. Just stays on blank page with logo.
BTW - this is a dual-boot windows 7 / Linux Lite computer (each has its own drive). Have not had this problem before. Just after today's update.
At which point of the boot are you pressing the F4 key?
F4, Home, Insert all work for me here.
As soon as I choose to boot to Linux, then I hit F4.
Still no luck. F4 does nothing. Other options for booting on the grub menu do nothing either.
So am I out of luck? Nobody knows?
Hitting F4, Home and Insert during boot up does nothing. I try booting with "advanced options" and then Linux 4.15.-135 generic, and it just sits there and won't boot.
I'd REALLY like to be able to use my Linux Lite again.
We have tried to help you, I'm afraid not every thread has a happy ending, even on Windows forums. The keys that work for everyone else should work for you, but they don't.

hrug
I would like to see a video of you trying to boot.
Have you tried pressing 'esc' during the boot up ?

Hi!

I would like the same!
I had tons of kind of trouble over the years but this looks way out of the way...
My best guess is that something went wrong during the "Update GRUB" sequence.
That means that somewhere during the script building process, something went wrong.
There are too many possibilities and this makes it a guesswork.
Have you tried the "boot-repair-disk"?
https://sourceforge.net/projects/boot-repair-cd/
Usually it fixes the boot problems without wasting endless hours searching for a solution.
Good luck!

Best regards!
