Hello;
My Brother HL-4570CDW printer is connected to my network. All Windows machines can print any time.
But in Linux Lite 5.2 (up to date as of today) it either shows up as "Not connected" or it can not be found.TIA

Two options:
(1) Connect the computer directly to the printer with a usb connection. If it can print from the wired connection, it should have the driver needed to print wirelessly.
or
(2) Go here and get the driver.

Thanks for attempting to help.I did what you suggested in #2. The download is a file named package-update-indicator-7.tar.gz.I looked at the only contents, a folder named package-update-indicator-7 that I have successfully extracted. And that is where my deplorable lack of LINUX knowledge kills me,What to do with this cryptic collection of commands(?)?Again, thanks for helping me at least one baby step along.Eike

Do number one FIRST. You don't want to use outside source software if you don't need to. Linux already comes loaded with plenty of Brother printer software awareness.
If you have to go to number two, download and run the deb package under the Printer Drivers section.

Thanks again.
Sorry, #1 not easily possible because distance and my age.
I am no longer capable of carrying that HEAVY printer - or temporarily relocating the computer in question.
