Hello LL support,

Just recently install LL 5,0 RC on a Dell Alien-ware 15 R2 laptop and LL 5 can seem to find the networked printer using the "add printer". I've even gone to the extend of installing the Canon MB5050 but it doesn't seem to find the printer on the network. I have verified that the printer works on a Windows system and also had it working with Linux Mint 19.0 >.

Can you help?

Know that LL5.0 RC is a TEST/BETA version for LL5 - if you are testing the 5 series - GREAT! (LL5.0 is on the roadmap for June 2020)
If you are testing LL as a 1st timer - You may be better to use LL4.8... as in the release notes, there is not an upgrade path for RC releases.

Have you installed via the Help Manual?
https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual/hardw...ml#printer

and if you continue thru there is a Canon Drivers section..

HiĀ  firenice03

Thanks for the prompt support...Btw, I was able to to get the printer driver installed but only after uninstalling LL5 and reinstalling LL4.8.

NOTE: for LL newbies, if having issues not seeing networked printers. Check out UFW settings. I'm not sure if its enabled by default. But that was my issue from the get go. DUH :o :o :o...hope this helps someone.

Issue RESOLVED!

ThanksĀ  firenice03.
I recommend reinstalling lite with the printer connected via usb. It has worked for my Canon Mg2522 in every distro I have tried with Linux. Linux Lite not withstanding. Good luck! Wink
