Full Version: Recovering from possible bad update

There were some updates that I installed and my system got stuck at the picture of the feather.

I did some research and found that if something happens, I should downgrade to an earlier kernel.

Next boot I selected the advanced options and was presented with several.  The top option was listed as: 4.15.0-91 generic.

The 2nd option had the same numbers and included recovery mode.

The 3rd option was listed as 14.5.0-88 generic and seems to work.  It did seem to get stuck at loading ramdisk one time, but di not the next time.  I checked for updates and it said that I was up to date.

How do I get rid of the 4.15.0-91 generic offering.  I have not as yet done enough reboots to see if my chosen downgrade is going to boot everytime.  I am a total nube at Linux.  Was OK with Win 7, but everything is so cryptic here.
