Here's a strange. I re-loaded Linux Lite to the latest and updated. All was well until I went to use Image Viewer.
It stopped me in my tracks. Both Image Viewer and Shotwell are identical.
No matter what I do if I open Image Viewer, it shows as Shotwell. This has never happened before. while Image Viewer shows up as a different App, it always opens up as Shotwell. What gives?

I think that is normal... As it is on mine..
The friendly name is Image Viewer - the Linux app name is Shotwell... In 3.8 ImageViewer was Ristretto...
Kinda the same as the Text Editor is Leafpad..
Right clicking Imageview from menu - the command it launches = shotwell...
I miss Image viewer as it has a "slide show" function which is handy. Is there a software that can replace this function?

For Shotwell...
Click VIEW then click SLIDESHOW it will become fullscreen with a mini toolbar..
If you really prefer Ristretto, its in the repo's.. Synaptic/Install Software..
Its what was the imageviewer in LL3.x series... It does have the "play" icon mid top to view slide show within its window...
I do like shotwells version
Series 3.x Image Viewer = Ristretto (features - basic image viewing, rotation etc)
Series 4.x Image Viewer = Shotwell (features - basic image viewing, rotation etc, photo management)
The slideshow option is not listed under View on my computer.
Screenshot is also not working anymore.
