Hi Guys,

I know this is WAAAY off topic, but I imagine it would be of interest.

Not sure if anyone here can offer expert comment, but of course any debate is welcome!

P.S. I can't view what appears to be the first video in the article, but on watching the second, further down, I have to conclude this is absolutely real.
Oh, I think it's real.  And cars are such a big part of our world.  I prefer the low-tech stuff, not connected to everything else.  Here, for example, is a low-tech solution that enables a tiny little person like me to drive:

Maybe one vehicle at a time can be hacked, but shutting down a large number of vehicles at once is too massive of a project even for a large hacking organization based just on the GPS logistics and the necessary ground infrastructure alone. Sure it's real now but on a minor scale, and only for a brief little window in time. Fossil fuel cars are on the way out, and with them the kind of computer engine controls mandated by anti-pollution laws and fuel mileage laws. GPS won't be linked to engine controls at all on electric cars. No need to. Won't need remote starting.
