Newbie here...Just getting started.

In the welcome letter, Jerry noted:

" If you are asking for or offering help, please remember to give people a Thanks located underneath their name on the left hand side of the page."


Is there a way to tell that I actually thanked someone via the link?

In short, no.

Their "reputation" goes up by 1 point for each "thank."

You can type +1 in your post then click the thanks button and they will notice it has increased and know why, if they do not receive another thanks click before reading it.
