Hi, I am windows 10 guy. My laptops are old so I thought I try Linux. I show that your Linux os is very close to the windows. So I am going to try it out. I also have some suggestions on how to make your os more like windows if you can get help with that would be good.
[member=9341]syfer1987[/member] Hello.
Perhaps we should start with a basic question.
Why are you leaving Windows 10?
I can think of many reasons to leave, and many reasons why I would not want any part of Linux Lite to resemble W10.
If you really want to leave Windows 10, congratulations!
All folks here will be most glad to lend you a helping hand.
Welcome!
I'm with [member=6876]elelme[/member] on this one. I don't want my desktop to look anything like Windows at all!
But that's the cool thing about this desktop: It's infinitely customizable, so it can be made to "look" like Windows or OSX or just about anything you can design. Mine is as different from Windows as I can make it. ;D
You'll also find it's aheckuvalot faster than Windows, too!
Hello syfer1987,
Welcome to the forum
Hi and welcome!
When you need to, you can post questions in specific sections/threads in the forums.
A good place to start though is the Lite Softwares program in the main menu.
There is a bunch of programs there that are the same as there Windows counterparts.
And, if you HAVE to run one old Windows program for some reason, there is Wine, a program that can run (most but not all) Windows apps.
Good luck!
[member=9341]syfer1987[/member] Welcome to the forum. Suggestions are welcome here too along the lines you mention. I am not necessarily referring to just the GUI as that is so easily modified to user preference with any Linux. Linux Lite strives more than any Linux out there to make computing a familiar experience for Windows users, and ideas that can improve on that are certainly welcome.

Hello and welcome to the forum syfer1987
This is a great Linux OS especially for those like yourself comming from Windows.
Forget about making Linux Lite look like Windows and just enjoy the experience.
