I downloaded Linux Lite about a week ago based on some articles I read.  I was looking for a distro that was based on ubuntu, xfce default de and had an upgrade procedure in place that was simple.  I do not have the time anymore to chase down solutions to the myriad of Linux problems that I've experienced in the past with other distros.

Linux Lite is all that I was looking for and more.  Beautiful distro and it fully worked out of the box as I only had minimal customizing when install was done.  It's easy to see why LL is ranked #21 on Distrowatch.  My prediction is it will climb much higher.

Thanks devs.  Amazing os!

Thank you Joe, and welcome Smile
Hello joemartin,

Hi, and welcome!

Xubuntu was always the distro I "ran home to" after a bout of distro-hopping (mostly out of curiosity).  Linux Lite is built on Xubuntu core I think, but the supercool tool set and plain-spoken Lite Manual, plus the application names (named for their function, not names a newbie wouldn't recognize), and this community are reasons I think this distro will go far.

Xubuntu's only supported for 3 years at a time from its release date.  Each series of Linux Lite is supported for 5 years from the release date of the series.

Nope, we build off a 35mb Ubuntu netboot image. I don't like to say it's even Ubuntu based, it might as well be a Debian netboot iso due to the small amount of GNU apps included.
