I have a Brother MFC-J470DW printer. In most Debian-based distros, it installs fine. In LinuxLite 4.4, it appears to install but does not generate a test print and does not print after that. I think the scanner works. I also have this issue in Bodhi 5.0.0, so it's not really a new issue and I'm pretty sure if I find the solution to one, the same solution will work for the other.
It could be worse. I can't install this printer at all in Solus. But it works for most .rpm and .deb package managers.

As I said, I've been working with this printer in several installations, many of them Ubuntu-based, and the method shown is exactly what I used. I'm undereducated in some ways, but installing distros is my thing (I have my hard drive partitioned roughly into quadrants, with a different distro on each one, and my data on an external so I can access all my data regardless of distro and without mounting extra volumes).
If you've followed the instructions to the letter, then I'm not sure what more I can offer. I'm happy to try the install for you via Teamviewer.

Moved to Printing and Scanning section.
I solved the problem in Bodhi.
sudo apt install bodhi-printing
Apparently this wasn't installed as part of the standard installation. Is there a similar function in Linux Lite? Such as "sudo apt install linuxlite-printing"?
No there isn't. I did offer to help you via
Teamviewer.

OK. Sorry, but I'm reluctant to let someone into my system remotely. Thanks for the offer.
If you don't trust me personally, why trust the OS? I could have planted all sorts of nasties in it.
So I have nasties in my head telling me to not let anyone coopt my computer. But I am told in my welcome message to treat all users with respect and tolerance. Why would you suggest to me (in such a backhand way) that I might not want to use Linux Lite? I'm rather enjoying it, actually, just reporting the issues I've had, which are very few.
