In Linux Lite once you have pegged a quick launch to the taskbar at some point you may want to move it. Right now you have to right click the taskbar - panel - panel preferences - items - then find the correct launcher & then use up or down to move it left or right. For the new people, a bit difficult. There is a solution. It's the return of a feature that was in Linux Lite series ONE. (How's your memory Jerry?). In Linux Lite 1.0.6 to move a quick launch on the task bar you right click the icon - select 'move' - go to where you want it on the taskbar - (all the other icons move out of the way) and then right click in the spot you want it. Almost exactly the same way it's done in Windows Vista up to 10. A great old feature that would be excellent for a comeback. Hope it can be so as it would be excellent for new users of Linux, and people coming from another operating system.

In Linux Lite series 5 would it be possible to have automatic security updates as is done in Ubuntu ? As Linux Lite is based on Ubuntu, but modified, can it be implemented as in Other Ubuntu OS's? Xubuntu for example does it. If you look at the update process right now it is a multiple step action. In Xubuntu (for example) to update the OS you need only start it. The background update service checks for, and installs, all security updates. A useful feature for new users of Linux, as well as those coming from other OS's. It has been mention in the forum by new users. But - as Linux Lite is a modified Ubuntu OS maybe it isn't possible. I do not know, but I hope it could be talked about, or looked into. I hope these feature requests are considered as constructive & in keeping with the vision of Linux Lite.

I add launchers to my panel for frequently used apps, then right-click the icon, select "Move" and then click on the panel where I want it.  Works on any Xfce desktop.  Is that kinda sorta what you mean?

In short, no. When I first proposed this, this was an outcry with people saying they didn't want that by default. I have though, thought of adding that as an option in Lite Tweaks.

[size=1em]Could we have Osmo - an XFCE calendar organizer/diary - incorporated into Lite Software for the LL5 series?
Would be good though to have it included from LL4.6 onwards - it's already in the Ubuntu repository. [/size]

Osmo is in Xfce-Goodies.  A clock for the panel, but when you interact with it it's a calander that ou can put appointments and birthdays and stuff in.

Ok thanks. We already have a calendar, so we won't be doubling up. I doubt this app is more popular than Teamviewer or Skype. Sounds like more of a niche thing for some individuals.

Osmo is more than merely a simple calendar, which anyway comes by default in LL's panel, which I think you alluded to above.
Apologies Jerry, as it doesn't appear to satisfy cross-platform functionality for the Lite Software app, as I can't find any evidence for a Windows OS version.  Sorry about this.

It's a calendar-organizer for daily diary notes. I had some difficulty finding a simple calendar-organizer (i.e. based on GUI, lightweight, syncing not needed with e-mail or other devices, suitable for XFCE) and asked around. I did try Gnome-Calendar (a.k.a. Calendar) but, as the name implies, it's not adapted for XFCE desktop, whereas Osmo is. However, I really like Gnome-Calendar as it can show you a calendar month of notes in single screen view, whereas the main drawback that I find with Osmo is that it only shows notes for individual days, rather than a week or month at a time.  I'm beginning to diagress from this thread ...  :-[
