Full Version: Is there a way to access BIOS on a used Lenovo Ideapad G580 2689 ?

Glad you were able to resolve your issue,

Just wanted to share another useful thing for some of these machines since I'm using a Lenovo laptop too at the moment.
If you want the F1-F12 keys active permanently instead of the special functions, you have to press the Fn+Esc key combination.

Maybe its old news to some, but since it's my first Lenovo laptop and it really bugged me... sharing this tid bit here.

Many thanks TheDead - I didn't know about the Fn-Esc keys either, I'm learning all the time.
Yes, it's my first Lenovo too. I acquired it recently from a guy who wanted to swap it for my dead Asus G750 (he wanted the keyboard to repair his machine) - it was a good deal (once I cracked the BIOS access problem) as it works great, dual-booted with LL  - I've now added it to the sig below  8)
