Hi.
I have posted a couple of threads here recently due to some questions after installed LL 4.2, so I noticed one behavior.
Each time I post in this forum - it appears to me that each single line shift is simply removed. In other word: If I want a line shift, then I have to add (press Enter) twice in input field. Otherwise, the resulting post get messed up by something looking like one very long sentence.
I use Firefox. Could this be due some keyboard rules (windows use CrLf while Linux use only Lf ?) in one way or another.
Thanks

That's a head scratcher. Have you tried typing what you want to submit into a text editor, then copying and pasting that into the forum?

Can you try another browser - just for testing?? If another browser works it may be something related to FF, setting/plugin/add-on..
If both browsers - perhaps system setting? ??? ??
I've seen some inconsistencies between OS's (Windows and LL) but that's something else...

This is the same for me, on Firefox and also Opera, since about middle of 2017.
I just use enter key 2 or 3 times (3 times to split these two lines), then use modify afterwards to space, when wanting to do some specific spacing.
Thanks
This is a test post.Using return x1 appears like this.
This is a test post.
Using return x2 appears like this.
This is an experimental post.
Using a space at the end of the above line , then pressing return x1, works correctly.
I noticed this worked when editing another post a few minutes ago.
Hope it helps.
Confirmed one space at end of line works. I always write posts in Toggle View (blue arrow) This ensures my posts are 100% correctly formatted each time, so no fancy tricks are required
