Hello!
Welcome to Linux Lite. LL not only outperforms Windows XP/7 systems with the same amount of RAM, but most all of the other 'Buntus as well.
Although some are better than others, anti-virus runtime engines really drag ALL Windows systems down considerably. As an exampleI recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 3135 netbook with Windows 8.1, and McAfee was hogging 80% of the CPU time. I finally had to uninstall it and switch it over to Windows Defender.
At some point, I WILL put Lite on it. I just haven't quite figured out how to make the two 'play nice' with each other yet. In the meantime, I'll run it off a 16GB or 32GB SD card...

Hello N4RPS,
thank you for the welcome.
I was online for just over 7 hours last night and found LL to be nice to use.
I understand what you mean about the anti-virus and some other programs, they want to do everything but make the coffee.

Also an ideal replacement for Vista, have had a plethora of Vista units come to me and everyone has run so very well, did not even bother making rescue disks for any of them!
