After doing a new install on Linux Lite, and setting up a username and password, when it starts up I entered my password which was accepted. However, when trying to do anything once logged in that requires my password, the password is rejected, even though I have not changed it.

So why is this?

Okay, I think I figured it out. It is an Asus EeePC and when it logs me in, it automatically switches on Num Lock, hence some characters are not entered correctly due to that.

So how do I get to not switch on Num Lock at boot up?
Hello!

Menu > Settings > Keyboard, then on the 'Behavior' tab, 'Restore num lock state on startup'. I believe that's what you're looking for.

If that fails, some PCs also let you toggle num lock in the BIOS...
