maybe I don't need it??
I see in the manual
"64bit:
Terminal Command:
sudo dd if=linux-lite-3.8-64bit.iso of=/dev/sdx bs=4M
Change the x in sdx to match the letter of your USB device. In the above example, my device is shown as sdd1 (leave out the '1')"
so I just change 3.8 to 4.0 and x to my usb drive letter?

I went to the LL site and saw the Etcher link, downloaded it, extracted, clicked on it, error message "expected a number and a lot more"
Maybe it only works when I'm ready to burn iso? Anyway, I'll stop here and wait for guidance.

Insert USB. Download Etcher, extract, make executable (right click etcher-electron-1.4.3-x86_64.AppImage ), no to Desktop question. Drink beer.

Sorry, no beer, only water.
Worked fine - great there's the checksum on the download page, but I pasted both to a document, one line under the other, can tell at a glance it's identical.
Had a look at the live usb - I am very impressed, it's really a beauty! Thanks.
