Planning to upgrade to Version 4.0 in June and need to know which Kernel version to be on. I am running VirtualBox on my Linux Lite system. I updated the kernel when I was running 3.6 and it took out VirtualBox necessitating reinstalling VirtualBox after upgrading to version 3.8. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hi,
There is no upgrade path from 3.x to 4.x, you can only upgrade within a series.
To install 4, you will need to either do a fresh install or install to another partition/disk.

As far as I know the stock kernel for LL4 *series* will be LTS kernel v4.15 and it's always personal choice to upgrade to a different kernel.
