I use most of them except for Chromium, virtual box, and jitsy. Just switched from ace-of-penguins to aisleriot since I only ever played solitaire from that collection.
I do understand why some people would think the inclusion of a card game is a bit strange. I've certainly never seen it mentioned before.
On the other side of the coin, it's refreshing to see a journalist be brave enough to take a broader view of what people do on their computer. Think of all the people that play Solitaire. Not just reserved for the older generation

I actually play solitaire a lot ;D and with 23 I wouldn't consider myself anywhere near an older generation ;D
I think Windows Solitaire was in the top of game charts for years
I'll try one or two things from those recommendations... thanks Mr Jerry!

GIMP does a lot, but I get confused trying to use it. I know there are supposedly good tutorials out there for GIMP, but I'm busy (lazy, perhaps) and would want a super-simple alternative that does cool stuff too. LibreOffice is definitely the best of the cool tools!

I now use 'darktable' for nearly all my post processing.
https://www.darktable.org/
it does raws and jpegs, and has all the things that are required for PP such as cropping, exposure, tone curves, clone tool and many many more.
It's worth spending a couple of hours watching Robert Huttons YouTube videos very simple to follow.
