Using Lite Tweaks, I restored package management to default. (I had changed it to USA Atlantic because I had read it would be faster.) Ran commands again in terminal and the grub update was available so I updated without any problem.

I am seriously debating on going back to an Debian only distro... like Noah said from Jb community. Ubuntu need thier act together.
