Have got to tell anyone who will listen lol, i went out this morning and bought a 24" Samson Curved Monitor and a Logitech C920 webcam and they both worked straight out of the box. No fooling about installing this or that, whatever. They just worked. Considering this desktop computer used to run Windows XP and now it's running Linux Lite 64bit. Simply amazing. 

I recently revived this hp g61 that came with factory installed windows 7 (and had given a 305 error message) with Linux lite 1.0.8 and so far so good.  Loving it. Can't get enough. (OK i'll stop now)

J868N  That LL is way past its sell by date IMHO as no longer receiving security updates etc.  Have you tried a live DVD of LL 3.4 to confirm all will work?  best way to keep up to date security wise.

Thanks Newtusmaximus but i only reverted to better understand LL from the ground up. (Sounded good in my head the first time) I'll soon move to 2.x.x and so on. (Joined this Linux family late i did)

J868N.  Fine , suggest you try LL2.8 next. Kernel 3.16 .  Understand this Kernel is supported to 2020? https://www.kernel.org/category/releases.html

Not wanting to over step on newtusmaximus info; but for the kernels installing LL2.6 would be preferred then updating to 2.8..
Ubuntu 14.04 (LL2.6 base) included kernel 3.13 - LTS until 2019
Whereas LL 2.8 included 3.19 which was not LTS..

Thanks firenice03 and again newtusmaximus: You have inspired me to learn LL 1.0.8 running on my live usb and install 2.6 on the hard disk. On to further adventures.
