Thanks Herbie, I'm sure people will find that helpful Smile
Awesome release Valtam! I will install the 64-Bit one on my older Dell Dimension 5100C (Pentium D 8xx Series @ 2.8 Ghz Processor, Intel 945G Graphics, 80GB Hard Drive, 2.5 GB DDR2 RAM). Will update soon.

One thing that confused me about this release was the Windows Vista startup sound. This version of the sound included in Linux Lite, was a sound that was present in Windows Vista Beta, but never made it to the final retail release of Vista.

Yes!! ;D will be installing 2.0 tonight, all the details and changes look wonderful!
As to regards to the Startup sound i hope Valtam and team didn't include this because my inquiring about it, i hope it is something other people have asked about and find useful or i would feel bad wasting your man hours on something that people that use Xfce (or Linux in general) don't really use :-\
Anyway if so, awesome and thank you!
Quick question do you think now it would be easier now to get a shut down or log off sound or empty trash sound as well?
I guess what i mean is, i know that you mentioned that you don't have the space to include it on the installer, but is it something we can do or add ourselves or is the startup sound something that was coded into the release?
i would be more than happy with my limited knowledge of linux to spend my time trying things out if there is something i can do?
My research led me to this link:
https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=8618
Is this something possible or is it just a waste of time?
Anyway thanks for this awesome release and hard work, i look forward to installing it tonight.

I went through that tutorial myself and it does not work on Linux Lite so in that regard, thats as far as I'm prepared to research system sounds at this stage. Bottom line is the start up sound was included because this is something our target audience is used to from an operating system. A compromise if you like for Windows users. Thanks for the feedback.

Installed 2.0 last night, Loving it! Thank you Smile

Just upgraded to LL 2.0 and wow what along way you've come already since the first release. Well done Valtam and the rest of the team.
Thank you to everyone for your feedback to date, creating this operating system and working on it is very rewarding.
Got round to installing LL 2.0 and I'm loving this distro even more.  All the improvements and little touches have made a great distro even better.

I also noticed you guys are currently riding high in the distrowatch popularity charts.

So a big Thank You and Congratulations to Valtam and the whole Linux Lite Team.

Wow -- you're right!

Last week Lite was ranked 34.  Today it shows as 26th.  That IS quite a bump up in the rankings!

Hello,
how can I update my existing 1.0.8 system to 2.0, without need for a complete reinstall?
