if you have not yet tried driver
Code:
sudo apt-get xserver-xorg-input-joystick
it may need configuring, I am unsure how to do that as I don't game, many do and someone can hopefully help you with configuring.

Did the Logitech Dual Action Gamepad need configuring, or did it plug and play after you inistalled ?
